Accounts and Payments | Horizon

Services

Banking shouldn't be the thing holding you back.

Weeks to open an account. Refusals with no explanation. Currency payments priced as an afterthought. For a growing business none of that is a minor inconvenience, it decides whether you can invoice, pay suppliers or take on the next contract.

What we can introduce.

Regulated providers across three areas, chosen for how they underwrite rather than how they advertise.

Business accounts

Current accounts and e-money accounts, opened on the strength of the business rather than its sector code.

Payments and FX

Multi-currency accounts, supplier payments and currency exchange at rates set for your volume.

Card acquiring

In-person and online card processing, with settlement times and fees agreed up front.

FX and merchant services.

Currency payments and card processing, priced on what you actually turn over rather than a standard tariff. We take your volumes to the market and come back with terms worth comparing.

Common questions.

Accounts, payments and card processing, answered plainly.

How quickly can a business account be opened?

Days rather than weeks in most cases. E-money institutions in particular onboard quickly; the provider sets the final timeline once your application is in.

Why do banks refuse business accounts?

Often it comes down to the sector code, a short trading history or a cash-heavy model rather than anything about the business itself. Providers who underwrite the business, not the code, reach different decisions.

I've been refused before. Is it worth trying again?

Usually, yes. Tell us why you were turned down. It's usually fixable, and it's usually not the reason you were given.

What is the difference between a bank and an e-money institution?

An e-money institution safeguards your funds with a bank or in secure assets rather than holding a banking licence itself. Accounts open faster and work the same day to day, though they are not covered by FSCS deposit protection.

Do you handle the application?

We make the introduction and brief the provider; they handle the application and the regulated relationship. You contract with them directly.

What does merchant acquiring cost?

Pricing is driven by your turnover, average transaction and sector. That is why we take your real volumes to the market rather than quoting a standard tariff.
